* FindSDL_sound: Fix SDL_SOUND_LIBRARIES result valueBrad King2016-10-281-4/+3
| | | | | | | | The value is meant to be a plain-variable ;-list. Remove quotes and caching. Patch-by: Aleksey Chernov (virx on gitlab.kitware.com) Closes: #16390
* Simplify CMake per-source license noticesBrad King2016-09-271-14/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Per-source copyright/license notice headers that spell out copyright holder names and years are hard to maintain and often out-of-date or plain wrong. Precise contributor information is already maintained automatically by the version control tool. Ultimately it is the receiver of a file who is responsible for determining its licensing status, and per-source notices are merely a convenience. Therefore it is simpler and more accurate for each source to have a generic notice of the license name and references to more detailed information on copyright holders and full license terms. Our `Copyright.txt` file now contains a list of Contributors whose names appeared source-level copyright notices. It also references version control history for more precise information. Therefore we no longer need to spell out the list of Contributors in each source file notice. Replace CMake per-source copyright/license notice headers with a short description of the license and links to `Copyright.txt` and online information available from "https://cmake.org/licensing". The online URL also handles cases of modules being copied out of our source into other projects, so we can drop our notices about replacing links with full license text. Run the `Utilities/Scripts/filter-notices.bash` script to perform the majority of the replacements mechanically. Manually fix up shebang lines and trailing newlines in a few files. Manually update the notices in a few files that the script does not handle.
* Use string(APPEND) in ModulesDaniel Pfeifer2016-07-271-2/+2
| | | | | | | Automate with: find Modules -type f -print0 | xargs -0 perl -i -0pe \ 's/set\(([a-zA-Z0-9_]+)(\s+)"\$\{\1\}([^"])/string(APPEND \1\2"\3/g'
* Help: Wrap long lines in pre-formatted documentation blocksBrad King2014-11-071-1/+2
| | | | Help format the blocks better for display without a wide screen.
* Keep cmake_minimum_required calls in sync with current versionDaniele E. Domenichelli2014-05-191-1/+1
| | | | | | Update cmake_minimum_required calls in CMakeLists.txt in Modules and in CMakeLists.txt generated by other modules, so that they are always in sync with current CMake version.
* FindSDL: Make FindSDL_*.cmake path suffixes consistent with main moduleBrad King2014-03-101-1/+3
| | | | | | | | Add the 'SDL' path suffix to the FindSDL_*.cmake modules. Add a comment explaining the purpose of suffixes as in commit v3.0.0-rc1~540^2 (FindSDL: Add path suffixes for <prefix>/include/..., 2013-10-08). Inspired-by: Adrien Destugues <pulkomandy@pulkomandy.tk>
* FindSDL: Add additional search paths on MSVC (#14029)Benjamin Eikel2013-11-211-1/+1
| | | | | | | | Add an architecture-specific library directory path suffix for each component. Use different search path for SDL_sound. Project files in VisualC directory suggest that a win32lib will hold the libraries. Reported-by: Paul Hampson <Paul.Hampson@Pobox.com>
* Convert builtin help to reStructuredText source filesKitware Robot2013-10-151-45/+66
| | | | | | | | Run the convert-help.bash script to convert documentation: ./convert-help.bash "/path/to/CMake-build/bin" Then remove it.
* FindSDL_...: Restore dropped search paths (#13819)Benjamin Eikel2012-12-301-1/+2
| | | | | Restore the search paths that were accidentally dropped by me in commit 9ed24c53. This was already fixed for FindSDL.cmake in commit 7cb51739.

* use PATH_SUFFIXES to simplify find_* callsRolf Eike Beer2012-08-141-80/+61
| | | | | | Especially remove "lib64" when the given paths are all Unix ones and "lib" is also explicitely given. In that case CMake will search "lib64" anyway for platforms where it is known to make sense.
* use the find_* functions ENV parameterRolf Eike Beer2012-08-141-32/+32
| | | | | | | | | Instead of directly passing $ENV{SOMEVAR} to a find_* call pass in ENV SOMEVAR. This will make sure the paths will get correctly handled through different platforms, especially on Windows. Also fixes one place where paths with windows delimiters (\) were hardcoded to use forward slashes.
* Remove CMake-language block-end command argumentsKitware Robot2012-08-131-19/+19
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Ancient versions of CMake required else(), endif(), and similar block termination commands to have arguments matching the command starting the block. This is no longer the preferred style. Run the following shell code: for c in else endif endforeach endfunction endmacro endwhile; do echo 's/\b'"$c"'\(\s*\)(.\+)/'"$c"'\1()/' done >convert.sed && git ls-files -z -- bootstrap '*.cmake' '*.cmake.in' '*CMakeLists.txt' | egrep -z -v '^(Utilities/cm|Source/kwsys/)' | egrep -z -v 'Tests/CMakeTests/While-Endwhile-' | xargs -0 sed -i -f convert.sed && rm convert.sed
* Convert CMake-language commands to lower caseKitware Robot2012-08-131-76/+76
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Ancient CMake versions required upper-case commands. Later command names became case-insensitive. Now the preferred style is lower-case. Run the following shell code: cmake --help-command-list | grep -v "cmake version" | while read c; do echo 's/\b'"$(echo $c | tr '[:lower:]' '[:upper:]')"'\(\s*\)(/'"$c"'\1(/g' done >convert.sed && git ls-files -z -- bootstrap '*.cmake' '*.cmake.in' '*CMakeLists.txt' | egrep -z -v '^(Utilities/cm|Source/kwsys/)' | xargs -0 sed -i -f convert.sed && rm convert.sed
* Remove trailing whitespace from most CMake and C/C++ codeKitware Robot2012-08-131-44/+44
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Our Git commit hooks disallow modification or addition of lines with trailing whitespace. Wipe out all remnants of trailing whitespace everywhere except third-party code. Run the following shell code: git ls-files -z -- \ bootstrap doxygen.config '*.readme' \ '*.c' '*.cmake' '*.cpp' '*.cxx' \ '*.el' '*.f' '*.f90' '*.h' '*.in' '*.in.l' '*.java' \ '*.mm' '*.pike' '*.py' '*.txt' '*.vim' | egrep -z -v '^(Utilities/cm|Source/(kwsys|CursesDialog/form)/)' | egrep -z -v '^(Modules/CPack\..*\.in)' | xargs -0 sed -i 's/ \+$//'

* Convert CMake find-modules to BSD LicenseBrad King2009-09-281-0/+12
| | | | | | | This adds copyright/license notification blocks CMake's find-modules. Many of the modules had no notices at all. Some had notices referring to the BSD license already. This commit normalizes existing notices and adds missing notices.
* ENH: Cleanup Find* modules with new HINTS featureBrad King2008-06-091-7/+4
| | | | | | | | | | - The find_* commands now provide a HINTS option. - The option specifies paths to be preferred over the system paths. - Many Find* modules were using two find calls with NO_DEFAULT_PATH to approximate the behavior, but that blocked users from overriding things with CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH. - This commit uses the HINTS feature to get desired behavior in only one find command call.

* BUG: Fixed modules to set FOO_FOUND when both headers and libraries are found.Eric Wing2007-12-211-393/+201
| | | | | | | | BUG: FindSDL now has flag it responds to so it will not find/link against SDLmain. This is required to build libraries instead of applications since they don't have main(). ENH: All modules have a predictable search order, where environmental variables are searched before system paths. This is designed to make automation easier for those that need to automatically build projects without intervention but may be using alternative install locations for isolated testing. ENH: New modules for OpenSceneGraph, Freetype, GDAL, Lua, QuickTime, GIFLIB, Producer, OpenThreads. STYLE: Added documentation explaining peculuar SDL_LIBRARY_TEMP variable in SDL module when library find is incomplete.
