* Tests: Extend MakeClean test to test various target typesSebastian Holtermann2019-08-261-37/+49
| | | | | This extends the MakeClean test to test the target property `ADDITIONAL_CLEAN_FILES` on executable, library and custom targets.
* Tests: Extend MakeClean test to cover subdirectories without targetsSebastian Holtermann2019-05-182-35/+64
| | | | | This adds a subdirectory to the MakeClean test, in which files are added to the `ADDITIONAL_CLEAN_FILES` directory property, but which holds no targets.
* Tests: Extend MakeClean test to cover ADDITIONAL_CLEAN_FILESSebastian Holtermann2019-05-142-29/+85
| | | | | | | | This extends the MakeClean test to cover the - ADDITIONAL_CLEAN_FILES directory property and the - ADDITIONAL_CLEAN_FILES target property as well.

* Tests: Teach MakeClean to use "cmake --build"Brad King2013-11-181-9/+2
| | | | | Switch from "ctest --build-and-test" to "cmake --build" to drive the clean target in the MakeClean test.
* Drop use of configure_file IMMEDIATE optionDaniele E. Domenichelli2013-11-132-2/+2
| | | | | | Since commit 7d47c693 (Drop compatibility with CMake < 2.4, 2013-10-08) we no longer need to use the configure_file IMMEDIATE option to support compatibility modes less than 2.0.
* Genex: Evaluate genexes for additional make clean files.Stephen Kelly2013-08-271-0/+12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is necessary because custom commands and targets may create custom files whose names are determined by generator expressions. For example, clang should be using $<TARGET_FILE> and $<TARGET_FILE_DIR> instead of reverse engineering the output file name: http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.compilers.clang.scm/80523 However, that can only be done when ADDITIONAL_MAKE_CLEAN_FILES also accepts and evaluates generator expressions. Similarly, KDE uses the LOCATION property where $<TARGET_FILE> would also be better in KDE4_HANDLE_RPATH_FOR_EXECUTABLE but also appends the result to ADDITIONAL_MAKE_CLEAN_FILES. After this patch, both can be ported to generator expressions.
* Remove CMake-language block-end command argumentsKitware Robot2012-08-131-6/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Ancient versions of CMake required else(), endif(), and similar block termination commands to have arguments matching the command starting the block. This is no longer the preferred style. Run the following shell code: for c in else endif endforeach endfunction endmacro endwhile; do echo 's/\b'"$c"'\(\s*\)(.\+)/'"$c"'\1()/' done >convert.sed && git ls-files -z -- bootstrap '*.cmake' '*.cmake.in' '*CMakeLists.txt' | egrep -z -v '^(Utilities/cm|Source/kwsys/)' | egrep -z -v 'Tests/CMakeTests/While-Endwhile-' | xargs -0 sed -i -f convert.sed && rm convert.sed
* Convert CMake-language commands to lower caseKitware Robot2012-08-133-34/+34
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Ancient CMake versions required upper-case commands. Later command names became case-insensitive. Now the preferred style is lower-case. Run the following shell code: cmake --help-command-list | grep -v "cmake version" | while read c; do echo 's/\b'"$(echo $c | tr '[:lower:]' '[:upper:]')"'\(\s*\)(/'"$c"'\1(/g' done >convert.sed && git ls-files -z -- bootstrap '*.cmake' '*.cmake.in' '*CMakeLists.txt' | egrep -z -v '^(Utilities/cm|Source/kwsys/)' | xargs -0 sed -i -f convert.sed && rm convert.sed
* ENH: Remove CMAKE_ANSI_CFLAGS from testsBrad King2009-07-081-7/+0
| | | | | As of CMake 2.6 this variable is not defined, and the ANSI flags for the HP compiler are simply hard-coded in the default C flags.

* BUG: Convert cmake_policy(VERSION) to cmake_minimum_required(VERSION) in ↵Brad King2008-03-201-1/+1
| | | | Tests/MakeClean/ToClean/CMakeLists.txt and Tests/Preprocess/CMakeLists.txt. CMP0000 now requires the cmake_minimum_required command.
* ENH: Improve handling of old-style compatibility.Brad King2008-03-071-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | - Remove CMP_0001 (no slash in target name) and restore old CMAKE_BACKWARDS_COMPATIBILITY check for it - Replace all checks of CMAKE_BACKWARDS_COMPATIBILITY with cmLocalGenerator::NeedBackwardsCompatibility calls - Create new CMP_0001 to determine whether or not CMAKE_BACKWARDS_COMPATIBILITY is used. (old = use, new = ignore) - Show CMAKE_BACKWARDS_COMPATIBILITY in cache only when CMP_0001 is set to OLD or WARN - Update documentation of cmake_policy and cmake_minimum_required to indicate their relationship and the 2.4 version boundary - When no cmake policy version is set in top level makefile implicitly call cmake_policy(VERSION 2.4) which restores CMAKE_BACKWARDS_COMPATIBILITY and other 2.4 compatibility - Fix tests MakeClean and Preprocess to call cmake_policy(VERSION 2.6) because they depend on new policies
* BUG: Do not remove the source file extension when computing an object file ↵Brad King2007-12-291-1/+1
