* A :variable:`CMAKE_<LANG>_COMPILER_AR` variable was added to hold
  the path to the GCC/Clang wrapper of ``ar``.

* A :variable:`CMAKE_<LANG>_COMPILER_RANLIB` variable was added to hold
  the path to the GCC/Clang wrapper of ``ranlib``.
