| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The QGlyphs API was initially attempted with a bastardization of QFont which was meant to encapsulate a single, physical font instance (a QFontEngine) where a set of glyph indexes would make sense. This is not how QFont was intended to be used, and it caused several issues. At the same time, the requirement for loading a font from ttf/otf data and be able to access it and use it without polluting the rest of the process with the font arose. To support these two APIs we introduce QRawFont, which is an abstraction on top of a single physical font. Done-with: Jiang Jiang

A bug was discovered during this work, where different hinting flags in loadGlyph() and loadGlyphMetrics() would make the metrics in the two functions different, thus causing drawCachedGlyphs() (which uses loadGlyphMetrics() indirectly) to use different metrics than the standard drawTextItem() code path (which uses loadGlyph()). The bug was visible in the tst_QGlyphs::drawExistingGlyphs() test. Reviewed-by: Simon Hausmann

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In some use cases where you use an external font engine and want to use Qt's font engine for painting, you might need a function which will give you direct access to the underlying font. A generic API for this requires a lot of API changes, so in the meantime, we implement an internal, specialized API to support the use cases where it is required. The API is considered internal and experimental, and not guaranteed to be stable or even exist across releases. This is API which provides several fun ways to shoot yourself in the foot, but if used properly, it will allow you to paint glyph ids at precalculated positions. Making them system includes seems to work around the issue without introducing problems on other platforms (so far?). | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | QPainter::worldTransform() does not return identity matrix when created on a redirected widget. It should always be identity by default, and should only change as a result of QPainter::setWorldTransform. The reason it didn't return identity for redirected widgets, was that we translated the shared painter's world matrix directly. Since we cannot modify the world matrix directly, we have to store the shared painter's current world transform in a separate matrix (redirectedMatrix), reset the world transform to identity, and later combine the redirectedMatrix with world transforms set on the painter. Note that redirection_offset was in negative coordinates before, and that redirectionMatrix now is in positive coordinates, hence opposite signs around. Auto-test included.
