Subject: Revert "Add a warning about trying to release a timer ID that isn't
 active"

This reverts commit e1955231478df8990cf8b1f80438abf957c5d6f2.
In a patch release this is the best way of fixing the problem of
warnings.
This will be fixed properly in 4.8
