* Include Python.h first which defines _XOPEN_SOURCENeal Norwitz2003-03-221-3/+3

* Fix SF #639945, 64-bit bug on AIXNeal Norwitz2002-12-311-3/+2
| | | | | | I can't test this on the snake farm (no aix box is working). This change works for the submitter seems correct. Can anybody test this on 32- and 64- bit AIX?
* SF patch 568629 by Oren Tirosh: types made callable.Guido van Rossum2002-06-141-17/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | These built-in functions are replaced by their (now callable) type: slice() buffer() and these types can also be called (but have no built-in named function named after them) classobj (type name used to be "class") code function instance instancemethod (type name used to be "instance method") The module "new" has been replaced with a small backward compatibility placeholder in Python. A large portion of the patch simply removes the new module from various platform-specific build recipes. The following binary Mac project files still have references to it: Mac/Build/PythonCore.mcp Mac/Build/PythonStandSmall.mcp Mac/Build/PythonStandalone.mcp [I've tweaked the code layout and the doc strings here and there, and added a comment to types.py about StringTypes vs. basestring. --Guido]

There is a minor style issue involved: Guido seems to have preferred English grammar (behaviour, honour) in a couple places. This patch changes that to American, which is the more prominent style in the source. I prefer English myself, so if English is preferred, I'd be happy to supply a patch myself ;)

* Cleanup patches from Greg Stein:Guido van Rossum1999-12-221-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * in import.c, #ifdef out references to dynamic loading based on HAVE_DYNAMIC_LOADING * clean out the platform-specific crud from importdl.c. [ maybe fold this function into import.c and drop the importdl.c file? Greg.] * change GetDynLoadFunc's "funcname" parameter to "shortname". change "name" to "fqname" for clarification. * each GetDynLoadFunc now creates its own funcname value. WARNING: as I mentioned previously, we may run into an issue with a missing "_" on some platforms. Testing will show this pretty quickly, however. * move pathname munging into dynload_shlib.c
* Vladimir Marangozov:Guido van Rossum1999-12-211-1/+1
| | | | | | Here's a patch that avoids a warning caused by the "const char* pathname" declaration for _PyImport_GetDynLoadFunc (in dynload_aix). The "aix_load" function's 1st arg is prototyped as "char *pathname".
* The old platform-specific contents of importdl.c, broken down into oneGuido van Rossum1999-12-201-0/+235
file per platform (really: per style of Dl API; e.g. all platforms using dlopen() are grouped together in dynload_shlib.c.). This is part of a set of patches by Greg Stein.
