From 09cad08d754e5d458d79d26ff61fccfeff39a059 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: =?UTF-8?q?Marc-Andr=C3=A9=20Lemburg?= Date: Mon, 18 Sep 2000 11:06:00 +0000 Subject: sys.setdefaultencoding() should only be called in case the standard default encoding ("ascii") is changed. This safes quite a few cycles during startup since the first call to .setdefaultencoding() will initialize the codec registry and the encodings package.
