    Bug Fix
Description:
    If a platform doesn't have a GNU "install" program, then that install
    program might not support the "-d" option which creates directories
    for you.
Solution:
    Use our "mkdirs" script instead to create a nest of subdirectories.
Platforms tested:
    HP-UX, Linux
