[svn-r12143] Purpose:
Bug fix
Description:
make check-clean didn't clean results of example tests
Solution:
Fixed Makefiles so that check-clean recurses into example directories.
Also a little Makefile cleanup.
Platforms tested:
mir, modi4, heping, copper
