Merging in latest from upstream (HDFFV/hdf5:refs/heads/develop)

Updated the parallel install docs.
Eliminated the need for a separate script variable.
Added a helpful message to the flush script.
Added a shell script so we can run the parallel flush test on OpenMPI.
