* Remove long double conversion work-arounds (#3097)Dana Robinson2023-06-121-284/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Several options and public symbols that were provided to paper over non-standard long double conversions between signed/unsigned long and long long values were removed from the Autotools and CMake. These were added twenty years ago, when C99 and 64-bit platforms were less common and are no longer needed. Autotools: --enable-dconv-accuracy CMake: HDF5_WANT_DATA_ACCURACY H5pubconf.h symbols: H5_WANT_DATA_ACCURACY H5_LDOUBLE_TO_LONG_SPECIAL H5_LONG_TO_LDOUBLE_SPECIAL H5_LDOUBLE_TO_LLONG_ACCURATE H5_LLONG_TO_LDOUBLE_CORRECT H5_DISABLE_SOME_LDOUBLE_CONV

* Remove H5_NO_ALIGNMENT_RESTRICTIONS (#1426)David Young2022-04-161-53/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * Do not conditionally compile code that uses a pointer dereference and assignment to copy a potentially unaligned variable to aligned automatic storage, or vice versa. Instead, always use naked `memcpy(3)`s. Disassembling the generated code reveals that the `memcpy(3)`s optimize (`-O3`) to a single `mov` instruction for x86_64, which is not strict about alignment. This change reduces the size of code and scripts by 143 lines, eases our way to cross-compilation, and avoids invoking undefined behavior. * Committing clang-format changes * Per discussion, use HD and add comments. * [svn-r27428] Bug fix: DAILYTEST-170Albert Cheng2015-07-241-0/+82
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Description: XL compilers in ostrich (PowerPC64 linux) fail in test/dt_arith because of the removal of the LLONG_TO_LDOUBLE_CORRECT (removed in r26625) and LDOUBLE_TO_LLONG_ACCURATE (removed in r26623). Solution: Reverse revisions r26623: bring back LDOUBLE_TO_LLONG_ACCURATE configure macro r26625: bring back LLONG_TO_LDOUBLE_CORRECT configure macro r26627: bring back WANT_DATA_ACCURACY configure macro which is used together with the above two macros. This also brings back the enable-dconv-accuracy configure option. Tested: h5committested. Also tested in ostrich using the XL compilers.
