* [svn-r22291] Description:Quincey Koziol2012-04-171-15/+15
| | | | | | | | | | Bring r22287 from trunk to 1.8 branch: Clean up more FUNC_ENTER/FUNC_LEAVE macros and move H5D & H5T code toward the final design (as exemplified by the H5EA & H5FA code). Tested on: Mac OSX/64 10.7.3 (amazon) w/debug & parallel
* [svn-r21925] Description:Quincey Koziol2012-02-101-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Bring r21919-21924 from trunk to 1.8 branch: cleanup FUNC_ENTER macros, etc. Also removed Subversion mergeinfo tags from a few directories and files. These are artifacts from non-root merges using pre-1.6 Subversion clients. (This should fix the problem of unchanged directories looking "changed" during checkins.) Tested on: Mac OSX/64 10.7.3 (amazon) w/debug & production (daily tested on trunk)
* [svn-r19134] Description:Quincey Koziol2010-07-281-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Bring r19133 from trunk to 1.8 branch: Correct traversal of user-defined links (including external links) to retain path information of object, allowing H5Iget_name() queries to work quickly (without searching entire destination file). This required some refactoring and addition of a mechanism to detect if a "fast" query was performed (for the tests). Minor code cleanups, etc. Tested on: FreeBSD/32 6.3 (duty) in debug mode FreeBSD/64 6.3 (liberty) w/C++ & FORTRAN, in debug mode (h5committest performed on trunk)
* [svn-r18038] Description:Quincey Koziol2009-12-191-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Bring r18037 from trunk to 1.8 branch: Bring r18035 from merge_metadata_journaling branch to trunk: More "brush clearing" convergence between metadata_journaling branch and the trunk. Tested on: Linux/64-amd64 2.6 (amani) w/Intel compilers, w/default API=1.6.x, w/C++ & FORTRAN, in production mode (h5committested on trunk)
* [svn-r18032] Description:Quincey Koziol2009-12-171-3/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Bring r18031 from trunk to 1.8 branch: Bring r18030 from merge_metadata_journaling branch to trunk: Bring "brush clearing" changes (whitespace & style issues, mostly) from metadata_journaling branch to the "merging" branch, to converge the trunk and the metadata_journaling branch. Also, some other minor cleanups along the way. Tested on: FreeBSD/32 6.3 (duty) in debug mode FreeBSD/64 6.3 (liberty) w/C++ & FORTRAN, in debug mode (h5committested on trunk)
* [svn-r17277] Description:Quincey Koziol2009-07-301-1/+1
| | | | | | | | Bring r17275 and r17276 from trunk to 1.8 branch. Tested on: Mac OS X/32 10.5.7 (amazon) w/debug & production (too minor to require h5committest)
* [svn-r17274] Description:Quincey Koziol2009-07-301-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | Bring r17272 from trunk to 1.8 branch: Finish pushing contiguous storage size from 'layout' into 'storage" data structure. Tested on: Mac OS X/32 10.5.7 (amazon) w/debug & production Too minor to require h5committest
* [svn-r16481] Purpose: Improve chunk cacheNeil Fortner2009-02-121-0/+46
| | | | | | | | | | | Description: The meaning of the "nbytes" field in H5D_rdcc_t was not clear, and some places assumed it was the maximum size of the chunk cache, while some assumed it was the current size of the chunk cache. The end result was that only 1 chunk could be held in cache at a time. This field has been replaced by "nbytes_max" and "nbytes_used". Performance of cached I/O should improve greatly. Tested: jam, smirom (h5committest)
* [svn-r15513] Description:Quincey Koziol2008-08-211-11/+11
| | | | | | | | | | Bring back r15510 & r15512 from trunk: Fix compiler warnings and formatting. Tested on: Mac OS X/32 10.5.4 (amazon) More tests upcoming
* [svn-r13253] Updated all C and C++ style source code files with the THG ↵Albert Cheng2007-02-071-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | copyright notice. Tested platform: Kagiso only since it is only a comment block change. If it works in one machine, it should work in all, I hope. Still need to check the parallel build on copper.

| | | | | | | | | | | | Code cleanup Description: Clean up & standardize a bit in preparation for coding standards discussion. Platforms tested: FreeBSD 4.11 (sleipnir) Too minor to require h5committest

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Description: Removed PABLO from the source Solution: Platforms tested: arabica with 64-bit, copper with parallel, heping with GNU C and C++ and PGI fortran (but I disabled hl, there is some weird problem only on heping: F9XMODFLAG is not propagated to the Makefile files Misc. update:
* [svn-r9329] James Laird2004-09-281-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Purpose: Feature Description: Datatypes and groups now use H5FO "file object" code that was previously only used by datasets. These objects will hold a file open if the file is closed but they have not yet been closed. If these objects are unlinked then relinked, they will not be destroyed. If they are opened twice (even by two different names), both IDs will "see" changes made to the object using the other ID. When an object is opened using two different names (e.g., if a dataset was opened under one name, then mounted and opened under its new name), calling H5Iget_name() on a given hid_t will return the name used to open that hid_t, not the current name of the object (this is a feature, and a change from the previous behavior of datasets). Solution: Used H5FO code that was already in place for datasets. Broke H5D_t's, H5T_t's, and H5G_t's into a "shared" struct and a private struct. The shared structs (H5D_shared_t, etc.) hold the object's information and are used by all IDs that point to a given object in the file. The private structs are pointed to by the hid_t and contain the object's group entry information (including its name) and a pointer to the shared struct for that object. This changed the naming of structs throughout the library (e.g., datatype->size is now datatype->shared->size). I added an updated H5Tinit.c to windows.zip. Platforms tested: Visual Studio 7, sleipnir, arabica, verbena Misc. update:
* [svn-r8731] Purpose:Quincey Koziol2004-06-231-4/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Code cleanup & minor optimization Description: Re-work the way interface initialization routines are specified in the library to avoid the overhead of checking for them in routines where there is no interface initialization routine. This cleans up warnings with gcc 3.4, reduces the library binary size a bit (about 2-3%) and should speedup the library's execution slightly. Platforms tested: FreeBSD 4.10 (sleipnir) w/gcc34 h5committest
* [svn-r8590] Purpose:Quincey Koziol2004-05-271-0/+116
Code optimization & bug fix Description: When dimension information is being stored in the storage layout message on disk, it is stored as 32-bit quantities, possibly truncating the dimension information, if a dimension is greater than 32-bits in size. Solution: Fix the storage layout message problem by revising file format to not store dimension information, since it is already available in the dataspace. Also revise the storage layout data structures to be more compartmentalized for the information for contiguous, chunked and compact storage. Platforms tested: FreeBSD 4.9 (sleipnir) w/parallel Solaris 2.7 (arabica) h5committest
