| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Finish refactoring v2 B-trees so that they can have client callback context provided to the encode/decode callbacks. Tested on: FreeBSD/32 6.3 (duty) in debug mode FreeBSD/64 6.3 (liberty) w/C++ & FORTRAN, in debug mode Linux/32 2.6 (jam) w/PGI compilers, w/default API=1.8.x, w/C++ & FORTRAN, w/threadsafe, in debug mode Linux/64-amd64 2.6 (smirom) w/Intel compilers, w/default API=1.6.x, w/C++ & FORTRAN, in production mode Solaris/32 2.10 (linew) w/deprecated symbols disabled, w/C++ & FORTRAN, w/szip filter, in production mode Linux/64-ia64 2.6 (cobalt) w/Intel compilers, w/C++ & FORTRAN, in production mode Linux/64-ia64 2.4 (tg-login3) w/parallel, w/FORTRAN, in debug mode Linux/64-amd64 2.6 (abe) w/parallel, w/FORTRAN, in production mode Mac OS X/32 10.6.2 (amazon) in debug mode Mac OS X/32 10.6.2 (amazon) w/C++ & FORTRAN, w/threadsafe, in production mode

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Remove old shim H5B2 routines from refactoring, rename new routines to old routine names and switch all users of the H5B2 interface back to the old routine names now that the switch to using the more current open -> <operation> -> pattern is used for all the H5B2 code. This is the final change before adding a context to the H5B2 client encode/decode callbacks. Tested on: FreeBSD/32 6.3 (duty) in debug mode FreeBSD/64 6.3 (liberty) w/C++ & FORTRAN, in debug mode Linux/32 2.6 (jam) w/PGI compilers, w/default API=1.8.x, w/C++ & FORTRAN, w/threadsafe, in debug mode Linux/64-amd64 2.6 (smirom) w/Intel compilers, w/default API=1.6.x, w/C++ & FORTRAN, in production mode Solaris/32 2.10 (linew) w/deprecated symbols disabled, w/C++ & FORTRAN, w/szip filter, in production mode Linux/64-ia64 2.6 (cobalt) w/Intel compilers, w/C++ & FORTRAN, in production mode Linux/64-ia64 2.4 (tg-login3) w/parallel, w/FORTRAN, in debug mode Linux/64-amd64 2.6 (abe) w/parallel, w/FORTRAN, in production mode Mac OS X/32 10.6.2 (amazon) in debug mode Mac OS X/32 10.6.2 (amazon) w/C++ & FORTRAN, w/threadsafe, in production mode

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Convert 'huge' fractal heap object management code to use refactored v2 B-tree routines. Also, switch internal representation of 'sizeof_addr' and 'sizeof_size' in files to be uint8_t's instead of size_t's, since they are stored in single bytes in the file format. Various other minor compiler warning cleanups and error call tweaks. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Change dense group storage to use refactored v2 B-tree interface. Also tweak dimension sizes for dataset in test down so it doesn't blow out the stack. * [svn-r17842] Description:Quincey Koziol2009-11-051-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Further refactor v2 B-tree code toward being able to pass context info down to encode/decode client callbacks: - Separate H5B2_create call to return H5B2_t structure - Make loading the v2 B-tree header pick up the client class from the ID stored in the file. Simplify some internal API calls as a result. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Refactor v2 B-tree code to take creation parameters to H5B2_create() as a struct (instead of individual arguments), call the client's class "cls" instead of "type" internally, and add client class name to client class struct. Tested on: FreeBSD/32 6.3 (duty) in debug mode FreeBSD/64 6.3 (liberty) w/C++ & FORTRAN, in debug mode Linux/32 2.6 (jam) w/PGI compilers, w/default API=1.8.x, w/C++ & FORTRAN, w/threadsafe, in debug mode Linux/64-amd64 2.6 (smirom) w/Intel compilers, w/default API=1.6.x, w/C++ & FORTRAN, in production mode Solaris/32 2.10 (linew) w/deprecated symbols disabled, w/C++ & FORTRAN, w/szip filter, in production mode Linux/64-ia64 2.6 (cobalt) w/Intel compilers, w/C++ & FORTRAN, in production mode Linux/64-ia64 2.4 (tg-login3) w/parallel, w/FORTRAN, in debug mode Linux/64-amd64 2.6 (abe) w/parallel, w/FORTRAN, in production mode Mac OS X/32 10.6.1 (amazon) in debug mode Mac OS X/32 10.6.1 (amazon) w/C++ & FORTRAN, w/threadsafe, in production mode

* [svn-r16540] Move variable declaration to the top of the block in ↵Neil Fortner2009-03-041-1/+2
| | | | | | H5G_dense_iterate Tested: Fedora 10 (too minor for full committest)
* [svn-r16516] To improve the performance of querying the info of a link (bug ↵Raymond Lu2009-02-241-45/+66
| | | | | | | | | | | #1404). When the index was set to creation order in query function but there's no creation order indexed in the file, the library tried to build and sort a table of all links. To optimize it, let the library use the B-tree for names of the links. Tested on jam. I tested the same change for v1.8 with h5committest.
* [svn-r16473] Purpose: fix problems related to 'self-referential' attributesNeil Fortner2009-02-121-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | Description: When an attribute was created with a datatype or dataspace that was shared in the same object header that the attribute was in, the attribute could not be deleted. Changes made to ensure that the attribute can be deleted both when the attribute is in the object header and when it is shared in the heap. Object header message decode routines now take an "open_oh" parameter to enable them to avoid opening the same object header twice. Tested: jam, smirom (h5committest)

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add H5Lvisit_by_name() API routine to library. Eliminated all (five!) other group traversal routines and changed them all to use the new API routine. Cleaned up output of h5ls & h5stat: - Issue error when requesting recursive traversal of a file with the "group info" flag, but no group given - Print info about root group in all(?) appropriate situations - Don't print "verbose" information about root group until the root group is in the list of objects to display (mostly because h5ls & h5stat had a different twist on traversing the groups in a file that the other utilities) Tested on: FreeBSD/32 6.2 (duty) in debug mode FreeBSD/64 6.2 (liberty) w/C++ & FORTRAN, in debug mode Linux/32 2.6 (kagiso) w/PGI compilers, w/C++ & FORTRAN, w/threadsafe, in debug mode Linux/64-amd64 2.6 (smirom) w/default API=1.6.x, w/C++ & FORTRAN, in production mode Linux/64-ia64 2.6 (cobalt) w/Intel compilers, w/C++ & FORTRAN, in production mode Solaris/32 2.10 (linew) w/deprecated symbols disabled, w/C++ & FORTRAN, w/szip filter, in production mode Mac OS X/32 10.4.10 (amazon) in debug mode Linux/64-ia64 2.4 (tg-login3) w/parallel, w/FORTRAN, in production mode

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Finish deprecating last H5G symbol (H5G_obj_t) - yay! Lots of misc. library fixes to remove confusion between links and objects. The tools could still use another pass, to remove h5trav_type_t type and make the correct distinction between links & objects. * [svn-r13926] Description:Quincey Koziol2007-06-291-13/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | Add small interface to "wrap" a static buffer (usually on the stack), but still allow for buffers larger than the static buffer to be allocated. This can eliminate _many_ short-lived buffer allocations in situations where the buffer is a predictable size (or at least a "very likely" size). Also, some minor code cleanups, particularly in the SOHM caching code. Tested on: Mac OS X/32 10.4.10 (amazon)
* [svn-r13753] Description:Quincey Koziol2007-05-141-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Check in "unique, but sharable" optimization to ISOHM code, which allows object header messages that are only used in one object to remain in the sole user's header, but migrates messages that are used in more than one header into the ISOHM heap. Tested on: Mac OS X/32 10.4.9 (amazon) FreeBSD/32 6.2 (duty) Linux/32 2.6 (chicago) Linux/64 2.6 (chicago2)

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add support for opening attributes in dense and/or shared storage by index. Move routines for building and operating on tables of attributes into separate source module. Fix bug where reverting from "dense" to "compact" storage would 'unshare' attributes. Minor code cleanups, etc. Tested on: Linux/32 2.6 (chicago) Linux/64 2.6 (chicago2)

* [svn-r12906] Description:Quincey Koziol2006-11-131-33/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Straighten out some convoluted code when links were being deleted, which could cause the "delete" callback for user-defined links to not get called when the group they were in was deleted. Had to compromise on the "delete" callback though - only calls the callback with the ID for the file the link is in, instead of the group, since the group is being held open upstream in the calling sequence during a group deletion and this prevents a group and its ID from being created. (This could possibly be worked around, but would cause a fair bit of havoc in the code and I'm not entirely certain it's worth it...) Tested on: Linux/32 2.6 (chicago)
* [svn-r12896] Description:Quincey Koziol2006-11-131-9/+12
| | | | | | | | Move compact storage routines into separate file, to make room for internal routines that operate on links within group operations. Tested on: Linux/32 2.6 (chicago)
* [svn-r12894] Description:Quincey Koziol2006-11-121-167/+121
| | | | | | | | | | | | Add H5Lget_name_by_idx routine & tests Move more H5G routines to deprecated API file Tested on: FreeBSD/32 4.11 (sleipnir) w/threadsafe Linux/32 2.4 (heping) C++ & FORTRAN Linux/64 2.4 (mir) w/build-all & enable_compat1.6 AIX/32 5.? (copper) w/parallel & FORTRAN
* [svn-r12890] Description:Quincey Koziol2006-11-111-15/+27
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Finished implementation of H5Lget_info_by_idx for all cases: old vs. new group formats, compact vs. dense new link storage, increasing vs. decreasing vs. native iteration order. Also, refactor symbol table "foo by index" routines to be more generic and share more code by using a single B-tree iteration callback which makes callbacks to a specific "get <foo>" callback. Tested on: Mac OS X/32 10.4.8 (amazon) FreeBSD/32 4.11 (sleipnir) Linux/32 2.4 (heping) Linux/64 2.4 (mir) AIX/32 5.? (copper)
* [svn-r12878] Description:Quincey Koziol2006-11-071-10/+213
| | | | | | | | Flesh out support for looking up link info by index, some cases for using dense storage are working now. Tested on: Linux/32 2.6 (chicago)
* [svn-r12873] Decription:Quincey Koziol2006-11-071-2/+2
| | | | | | | | Add support for reverse index lookup to v2 B-trees (needed for reverse index lookup of links in groups) Tested on: Linux/64 2.6 (chicago2)
* [svn-r12830] Description:Quincey Koziol2006-10-301-17/+45
| | | | | | | | | Finish internal work necessary to track creation order in v2 B-tree when group is in "dense" storage form. Tested on: Linux/32 2.6 (chicago) Linux/64 2.6 (chicago2)
* [svn-r12825] Description:Quincey Koziol2006-10-301-4/+19
| | | | | | | | Rudimentary support for creating creation order index (but not inserting links in it yet). Testedon: Mac OS X/32 10.4.8 (amazon)
* [svn-r12768] Description:Quincey Koziol2006-10-161-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | Add 'initval' parameter to "lookup3" checksum routine (and implicitly to the metadata checksum routine), to allow chaining several checksums together easily (which isn't used by these modules, but will be used in my next checkin) Tested on: Linux/32 2.6 (chicago) Linux/64 2.6 (chicago2)
* [svn-r12700] Alert:Quincey Koziol2006-10-021-0/+1374
File format is not stable, don't keep files produced! Description: First stage of checkins modifying the format of groups to support creation order. Implement "dense" storage for links in groups. Try to clarify some of the symbols for the H5L API. Add the H5Pset_latest_format() flag for FAPLs, to choose to use the newest file format options (including "dense" link storage in groups) Add the H5Pset_track_creation_order() flag for GCPLs, to enable creation order tracking in groups (although no index on creation order yet). Remove --enable-group-revision configure flag, as file format issues are now handled in a backwardly/forwardly compatible way. Clean up lots of compiler warnings and other minor formatting issues. Tested on: FreeBSD/32 4.11 (sleipnir) w/threadsafe Linux/32 2.4 (heping) w/FORTRAN & C++ Linux/64 2.4 (mir) w/enable-v1.6 compa Mac OSX/32 10.4.8 (amazon) AIX 5.3 (copper) w/parallel & FORTRAN
