The addition of view objects in the fastforward project is expected to be brough into the trunk sometimes in the future, which is why we need to make this change. Tested Manually on Jam and Ostrich. Tested with h5commitest - Koala with intel compilers failed, but nothing had to do with those changes. error on Koala: error while loading shared libraries: libirng.so

* [svn-r20913] Issue 7579 - The overflowing ENUM values are inconsistent. ↵Raymond Lu2011-05-271-0/+83
| | | | | | | | | | When no conversion is involved in reading or writing the data, overflowing values are retained. When conversion happens, the values become -1. The conversion function puts -1 when overflow happens. I added two new dataset transfer property to control whether to fill 0xff in the destination data or convert to the destination data when overflow happens. The two new functions are H5Pset(get)_enum_conv_overflow. I also added test cases in enum.c and dtypes.c. Tested on jam, koala, and heiwa.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit metadata tagging framework. Description: This check-in contains a new framework whose goal is to apply a tag value to each new entry in the metadata cache as it is created. This tag value is such that it relates each piece of metadata to the HDF5 object that it belongs to (dataset, group, et cetera). This changeset includes the framework that applies the tags as well as a suite of tests to verify correct tag application, though does not yet make use of the tag values to flush/evict individual objects. Please refer to the "flush/evict individual objects" RFC for further discussion of these changes. Tested: jam, amani, linew (h5committest) liberty, abe, blue print

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Omnibus raw data I/O revisions, with wide-ranging changes and refactoring, in order to prepare for implementing "fast append" feature. These changes remove the majority of the code duplication for raw data I/O which has crept in over the last ten years and introduces a more object- oriented design for operating on different types of dataset storage. Chunked storage no longer has it's own I/O routines, it is now handled as either contiguous (if chunk is not pulled into the cache) or compact (if the chunk is cached in memory). No bug or feature changes, at least intentionally... :-) Tested on: FreeBSD/32 6.2 (duty) in debug mode FreeBSD/64 6.2 (liberty) w/C++ & FORTRAN, in debug mode Linux/32 2.6 (kagiso) w/PGI compilers, w/C++ & FORTRAN, w/threadsafe, in debug mode Linux/64-amd64 2.6 (smirom) w/default API=1.6.x, w/C++ & FORTRAN, in production mode Linux/64-ia64 2.6 (cobalt) w/Intel compilers, w/C++ & FORTRAN, in production mode Solaris/32 2.10 (linew) w/deprecated symbols disabled, w/C++ & FORTRAN, w/szip filter, in production mode Mac OS X/32 10.5.2 (amazon) in debug mode Linux/64-ia64 2.4 (tg-login3) w/parallel, w/FORTRAN, in production mode

| | | | | | | | | | | | running on kagiso. The static szip libraries are working as intended, but when shared szip libraries are present and intended for use they cannot be opened. A check has been implemented to test if shared szip libraries are functional on current platform. If they are not, and the user is trying to use them, szip is now disbaled and the user is informed. This issue occurs on kagiso, and the resolution was tested on kagiso.

* [svn-r12842] Description:Quincey Koziol2006-11-021-3/+521
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Refactor generic property list initialization code to put property list specific routines in property list modules, instead of scattered to the four winds. Also, introduce property list class initialization objects, to make adding new property list classes in the library easier. Fix daily test failure by using H5Pget_elink_prefix() API routine instead of looking at the "raw" generic property list information. Tested on: Mac OS X/32 10.4.8 (amazon) FreeBSD/32 4.11 (sleipnir) w/threadsafe Linux/32 2.4 (heping) w/C++ & FORTRAN Linux/64 2.4 (mir) w/build-all & 1.6 compat

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Finish new version of the I/O pipeline message, which is much smaller than the previous version. This version is used with the "use the latest version of the format" flag. Closed several memory leaks/overruns (found with valgrind). Also, lots of compiler & formatting cleanups. Tested on: Linux/32 2.6 (chicago) Linux/64 2.6 (chicago2)

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Code cleanup Description: Trim trailing whitespace, which is making 'diff'ing the two branches difficult. Solution: Ran this script in each directory: foreach f (*.[ch] *.cpp) sed 's/[[:blank:]]*$//' $f > sed.out && mv sed.out $f end Platforms tested: FreeBSD 4.11 (sleipnir) Too minor to require h5committest

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Bug fix, sorta. Description: Revert change to H5Pget_data_transform() which changed len of buffer returned to be inconsistent with H5Iget_name(), etc. We should discuss this change and apply it to all the similar functions if we decide to change the return value. Platforms tested: FreeBSD 4.10 (sleipnir) Too minor to require h5committest
* [svn-r9524] Purpose:Leon Arber2004-11-121-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Bug Fix Description: Fixed off by one error in H5Pget_data_transform Solution: H5Pget_data_transform, when queried for the size of the property, should return strlen() + 1 so that the user can allocate memory for the terminating \0 in the string. Also fixed a typo in a comment in H5Ztrans.c Platforms tested: eirene, too minor to require further testing. Misc. update:

* [svn-r9461] Purpose:Leon Arber2004-10-261-10/+35
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Changed functionality of H5Pget_data_transform Description: H5Pget_data_transform no longer allocates memory for the transform string...it is the user's responsbility to do so. Solution: Made H5Pget_data_transform be more in line with other functions that do similiar things: User now has to allocate memory for the string themselves and specify how much of the string should be copied into the buffer. There is also support for querying the length of the transform string. Platforms tested: sol + eirene + copper Misc. update:
* [svn-r9441] Purpose:Leon Arber2004-10-201-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Code refactor Changed functionality of H5Pget_data_transform Description: Rewrote much of H5Ztrans.c to use macros, which cut down on the amount of code significantly. H5Pget_data_transform now allocates memory for the data transform string, copies the string into this memory, and returns this pointer to the user, instead of returning a pointer to the internal transform string stored by hdf. It is the user's responsibility to free this memory when they are done with it. Platforms tested: sol + eirene + copper Misc. update:
* [svn-r9267] Purpose:Leon Arber2004-09-161-0/+53
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Added H5Pget_data_transform Added support for polynomial data transforms Description: There is now support for polynomial data transforms (ie, (2+x)*(x-5)) instead of just linear ones. Note that, in order to compute a polynomial transform, one temporary copy of the original data must be stored for each occurence of "x" in the transform expression. This can result in very high memory usage for expressions of high order. Platforms tested: sol + eirene Misc. update:

| | | | | | | | | | | | | Code cleanup & small bug fix Description: Regenerate dependency files Add htri_t as separate type from hbool_t for code tracing purposes. Platforms tested: FreeBSD 4.10 (sleipnir) w/parallel too minor to require h5committest

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Code cleanup & minor optimization Description: Re-work the way interface initialization routines are specified in the library to avoid the overhead of checking for them in routines where there is no interface initialization routine. This cleans up warnings with gcc 3.4, reduces the library binary size a bit (about 2-3%) and should speedup the library's execution slightly.
