* [svn-r26648] Description:Quincey Koziol2015-03-301-5/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Bring r26635 from trunk to 1.8 branch: Bring r26651 from autotools_rework branch to trunk: Remove the VSNPRINTF_WORKS macro, it's working around bugs in old SGI & HP compilers. Tested on: Linux/32 2.6.18 (jam) w/serial & parallel (Daily tested on trunk for 2+ days)
* [svn-r25497] Description:Quincey Koziol2014-07-301-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | Merge changes that correspond to the 64-bit ID changes (without the actual switch to 64-bit IDs) to the 1.8 release branch. (Plus a few minor cleanups and alignments with the trunk that aren't on the branch) Tested on: Mac OSX/64 10.9.4 (amazon) w/C++ & FORTRAN (h5committested on branch already for a week)
* [svn-r25014] Purpose:Dana Robinson2014-04-111-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Merge of r24937 from the trunk Adds H5free_memory to the API. This function should be used to free memory allocated by the library (e.g., returned values from H5Tget_tag, H5Pget_class_name, etc.). This is mainly to help Windows applications deal with multiple CRT instances, but can also be helpful when a debug memory manager is being used or when the HDF5 API is being wrapped for managed languages like Python and Java. Tested on: 32-bit LE linux (jam) with fortran and C++ 64-bit BE linux (ostrich) 64-bit LE linux (koala)

* [svn-r21379] The tools used "%hhd" to print signed char. But VMS doesn't ↵Raymond Lu2011-09-131-0/+4

* [svn-r21356] Issue 7674 - CLANG compiler complained about the line (about 800):Raymond Lu2011-09-021-10/+48
| | | | | | | | | | tempint = (tempint >> packed_data_offset) & packed_data_mask; The right shift may cause undefined behavior if PACKED_DATA_OFFSET is 32-bit or more. For every kind of native integers, I changed the code to make it zero if PACKED_DATA_OFFSET is greater than or equal to the size of integer. Tested on jam and on MacOS with CLANG compiler.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | HDFFV-5878 - GMQS: h5dump - incorrect output format for array type with multiple elements in an index Description: Merged from HDF5 trunk r21014. Fixed h5dump to display the first line of each element into correct position for multiple dimention array type. Before this fix, the first line of each element in array were displayed after the last line of previous element without moving to the next line (+indentation) Tested: jam (linux32-LE), koala (linux64-LE), heiwa (linuxppc64-BE), tejeda (mac32-LE), linew (solaris-BE)

| | | | | | | | | | | | | HDFFV-7594 - GMQS: h5dump shows wrong values for H5T_STD_I8LE dataset on Blue-gene (ppc64 linux BE +@) Description: Merged from HDF5 trunk r20804. For the STD_I8 type data, updated to use 'signed char' instead of 'char' as 'char' could be defined as unsigned on a certain system, which cause h5dump to display data values incorrectly. Tested: jam (linux32-LE), koala (linux64-LE), heiwa (linuxppc64-BE), tejeda (mac32-LE), cmake

* [svn-r18796] Enhancement 1853:Albert Cheng2010-05-131-8/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Install packed-bits feature for h5dump. tools/h5dump/h5dump.c: Added lots of error checking into parse_mask_list() to catch and flagged packed-bits argument errors. For now, the packed bits are limited to 1 byte (8 bits) range. tools/h5dump/testh5dump.sh.in Added 10 new packed-bits test to verify normal operation and argument error detection. tools/lib/h5tools.h: tools/lib/h5tools_str.c: tools/lib/h5tools.c: Only name changes of the packed-bit global variables to reflect the nature of the variable better, IMO. | | | | Fixed #720 h5dump: improve how region references are displayed. h5dump now uses the new API function H5Rget_name to display the name of the dataset referenced instead of its ID. Added a case to the script test file
* [svn-r13076] Pedro Vicente Nunes2006-12-191-3/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | fix for bugzilla bug #551 several programming errors contributed to this bug 1) the parsing of subsetting was using atoi to convert the parameter to an int, which caused problems for numbers greater that int. Substitute with atof 2) several index counters were declared as int, use hsize_t instead 3) the numerical format passed for printf was %lu, defined one compatible with hsize_t instead (unsigned long long)
* [svn-r12736] Description:Quincey Koziol2006-10-091-58/+59
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add "use the latest format" support for dataspace object header encode/ decode routines and clean up format a bit for the latest format (new to 1.8.x releases) Remove storing 'perm' parameter for array datatypes in memory and the file, and add test to make certain that if any user applications are attempting to store them, we get some reports back. (Should be unlikely, since the RefMan says that the parameter is not implemented and is unsupported). Carry those changes into the tests, etc. Clean up a bunch more compiler warnings. Tested on: FreeBSD/32 4.11 (sleipnir) w/threadsafe Linux/32 2.4 (heping) w/FORTRAN & C++ Linux/64 2.4 (mir) w/enable-1.6-compat

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | bug fixes Description: h5dump/h5ls were not displaying long doubles correctly Solution: 1) the print datatype functions were incorrectly testing for the valid return value from H5Tequal, (TRUE), causing the display of an incorrect name of a dataype in error cases from H5Tequal 2) h5tools_print_str did not have a case for native long double 3) added a file generator for a long double dataset 4) added one script test for the long double data (commented , some sytems don't have a native long double match, and the output differs) 5) added a vms file and h5dump script test Platforms tested: linux 32, 64 solaris AIX Misc. update:
