Bring r20557:22085 from trunk to this branch, also fixing some other
issues/failures in the branch simultaneously. The h5repack tests are still
failing, but Neil will be checking into those, so the branch can be fully
functional again.
Tested on:
Mac OSX/64 10.7.3 (amazon) w/debug

the target object as part of TARGETPATH, noted with some extra indentation
The previous printing of
LINKCLASS 64
was removed
HDF5 "textlinksrc.h5" {
GROUP "/" {
EXTERNAL_LINK "ext_link1" {
TARGETFILE "textlinktar.h5"
TARGETPATH "dset"
DATASET "dset" {
DATATYPE H5T_STD_I32LE
DATASPACE SIMPLE { ( 6 ) / ( 6 ) }
DATA {
(0): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
}
}
}
}
}
There is no script test for this behavior so far, because test script uses complete paths that vary from test to test, making not possible to define a valid TARGETFILE in the file

Users can create external links using H5L_create_external(). These links
point to an object in another HDF5 file. Users can alter the behavior of
external links or create new kinds of links by registering callbacks
using the H5L interface.
Added tests, tools support, etc.
Also a number of other, minor changes have been made (some restructuring of
the H5L interface, for instance).
Additional documentation and examples are forthcoming.
