From 8c754e83854574261328889b59681a6cab40e0c8 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Mike McGreevy Date: Thu, 1 Oct 2009 12:05:38 -0500 Subject: [svn-r17567] Purpose: Configure Fix Description: Modified configure to set FC and CXX to "no" when fortran and c++ are not being compiled, respectively. This will prevent configure from running some checks on these compilers when they are not being used. This fixes a problem that was occuring when FC and/or CXX are set to a nonexistant or invalid compiler. Even if the languages were disabled, a libtool test would fail, thus preventing libtool from properly linking any libraries, yet configure would not flag an error message due to this because the languages were disabled. Tested: - h5committest (jam, smirom, linew) - manually eyeballed configure output and logfile. --- configure | 56 +++++++++++++++++++++++++----------------------- configure.in | 2 ++ hl/test/Makefile.in | 43 +++++++++++++++++++------------------ release_docs/RELEASE.txt | 4 ++++ 4 files changed, 57 insertions(+), 48 deletions(-) diff --git a/configure b/configure index 9beeb55..6522367 100755 --- a/configure +++ b/configure @@ -1,5 +1,5 @@ #! /bin/sh -# From configure.in Id: configure.in 17502 2009-09-21 05:28:44Z acheng . +# From configure.in Id: configure.in 17542 2009-09-28 15:44:35Z acheng . # Guess values for system-dependent variables and create Makefiles. # Generated by GNU Autoconf 2.64 for HDF5 1.9.47. # @@ -6314,6 +6314,7 @@ ac_compiler_gnu=$ac_cv_c_compiler_gnu else echo "no" + FC="no" fi if test "X$HAVE_SIZEOF" = "Xyes"; then @@ -7122,6 +7123,7 @@ fi else echo "no" + CXX="no" fi ac_ext=c @@ -8196,13 +8198,13 @@ if test "${lt_cv_nm_interface+set}" = set; then : else lt_cv_nm_interface="BSD nm" echo "int some_variable = 0;" > conftest.$ac_ext - (eval echo "\"\$as_me:8199: $ac_compile\"" >&5) + (eval echo "\"\$as_me:8201: $ac_compile\"" >&5) (eval "$ac_compile" 2>conftest.err) cat conftest.err >&5 - (eval echo "\"\$as_me:8202: $NM \\\"conftest.$ac_objext\\\"\"" >&5) + (eval echo "\"\$as_me:8204: $NM \\\"conftest.$ac_objext\\\"\"" >&5) (eval "$NM \"conftest.$ac_objext\"" 2>conftest.err > conftest.out) cat conftest.err >&5 - (eval echo "\"\$as_me:8205: output\"" >&5) + (eval echo "\"\$as_me:8207: output\"" >&5) cat conftest.out >&5 if $GREP 'External.*some_variable' conftest.out > /dev/null; then lt_cv_nm_interface="MS dumpbin" @@ -9407,7 +9409,7 @@ ia64-*-hpux*) ;; *-*-irix6*) # Find out which ABI we are using. - echo '#line 9410 "configure"' > conftest.$ac_ext + echo '#line 9412 "configure"' > conftest.$ac_ext if { { eval echo "\"\$as_me\":${as_lineno-$LINENO}: \"$ac_compile\""; } >&5 (eval $ac_compile) 2>&5 ac_status=$?
