recent input operation on \fIchannelId\fR (such as \fBgets\fR),
0 otherwise.

Tcl standard channel (\fBstdin\fR, \fBstdout\fR, or \fBstderr\fR),
the return value from an invocation of \fBopen\fR or \fBsocket\fR, or
